B12 Injections

Perfect for the busy bee, athlete, student and you!

As an injection, B12 can provide an immediate energy boost. It improves focus and boosts the immune system. Some even say it can enhance mood and slow aging. B12 is vital to red blood cell production and nerve health. There is no doubt B12 is an essential nutrient for life.

At the Injection and Infusion Clinic of ABQ, we use a special form of B12 called methylcobalamin or hydroxycobalamin.  Many clinics use cyanacobalamin.  Not only does the cyancobalamin form have cyanide, it is an extremely inefficient form of B12.  It takes a lot of energy and steps for the body to utilize this form.  And while it is breaking it down, it releases cyanide.  Yikes!  So we use activated forms of B12.  Hydroxycobalamin is a more stable form and we are most confident that it is bioavailable when injected.  The methylcobalamin is the most activated form, but it is fairly unstable.  We are less confident that it makes it into your system intact...so we usually inject hydroxycobalamin.

B12 is found in meat, fish and dairy, so if you aren't a vegetarian you probably get plenty in your diet. However, B12 absorption naturally declines with age…because the production of intrinsic factor in our stomach declines with age.  Bummer.  B12 absorption is also affected by any digestive problem, alcohol, smoking, inflammation and illness. Also, if you are extra stressed, B12 quickly becomes depleted.

Weekly injections are recommended for ongoing results
